Terms

Clear expectations keep the system calm.

These terms describe how the Future Builders Initiative website and membership flow are intended to operate. They are written to keep expectations aligned, prevent scope drift, and protect reliability.

Key points
  • This is a membership system with defined standards and boundaries.
  • Joining the queue does not guarantee enrollment.
  • Enrollment occurs by invite when capacity exists.
  • Excluded tasks remain excluded even if requested.
1) The service model

Future Builders Initiative offers a Home Stewardship Membership delivered under defined scope, structured oversight, and documented follow-through. It is not an on-demand marketplace and not a gig platform.

2) Queue and enrollment
  • Joining the queue does not guarantee enrollment.
  • Homes are invited to enroll when capacity exists.
  • Membership billing begins only after enrollment (not while in the queue).
3) Boundaries and exclusions

Boundaries are part of reliability. Tasks that are out of scope remain out of scope. This includes hazardous work, licensed trades, heavy equipment, roof/ladder work, and open-ended on-call requests.

4) Safety and conduct

Safety and respectful conduct are required. We may suspend or end participation if safety, integrity, or boundaries are compromised.

5) Payments

Membership payments are processed through Stripe. Your subscription is owned by the institution (not by individual stewards). Failed payments may pause service until resolved, consistent with the membership system.

6) Website usage

You agree not to abuse the website, attempt unauthorized access, or submit false information. We may limit access if needed to protect site integrity.

7) Foundation separation

Foundation gifts and charitable programs are separate from membership services. Donations do not purchase services and do not choose recipients.

Pilot note
This site is in an early operational phase. Terms will be refined as the system hardens and real-world enforcement expands.
Reminder
Defined scope protects reliability. If it isn't listed, it isn't promised.
